Day 30, Meal 60

Day 30, Meal 60

My Rating:

For my 60th meal, I am trying yet another soup first: Minestrone. This is described as “Fresh vegetables, beans and pasta in a light tomato broth – a vegan classic”. I am pairing that with Traditional Meat Sauce & Meatballs:

You might remember from earlier when I mentioned I’m used to being a creature of habit and tend to stick with what I know and what I like, and deviating from that norm worked REALLY well for me with the Zuppa Tuscana. Well, sadly, that is NOT the case with this soup.

I can’t quite put my finger on what I didn’t like about it, but I just couldn’t do it. The flavor was very distinct and I couldn’t even use it for breadstick dipping. Just not for me, at all. I’d rather eat Angel Hair pasta, and those who are following this blog know just how much I like that….

I also realized I don’t love the Meatballs solo as much as I thought I would. Perhaps it just needed some fresh grated cheese (or baked on Mozzarella), so I will have to re-visit those again.

I give the Soup a 2/10, and the Meatballs/Sauce combo a 6/10, for an overall 4/10.

After losing 70 pounds this year, I'm going on a journey of enjoying carbs and dining out twice a day for the next 8 weeks, for free, while still living a healthy lifestyle. I'll be at the gym daily, and my goal is to not put on a single pound. "Everything in moderation, including moderation" - Oscar Wilde
