Day 57, Meal 141

Day 57, Meal 141

My Rating:

After 8 Weeks of Pasta and 140 visits, I was able to amass a decent amount of leftovers. Surprisingly, ALL of them came from just the past 10 days. For the first 46 days, I almost never put in a refill and typically just got a single refill portion. But the last 10 days, I got a full size order, ate half (as indicated) and ordered a unique refill. That is my leftover stockpile, which took over the family freezer, and I have enough to last ANOTHER 8 Weeks. I’ll review a single frozen meal each day, and hopefully it won’t disappoint. They won’t show up in the Stats on this website, nor will they affect the $$ saved counter. Just simply for fun, to see how long I can continue eating Olive Garden. I’m eating OTHER food too, but I will try and commit to 1 Olive Garden meal a day… I’ll also show the before (fresh) and after (frozen then thawed) meal images.

I’m going with my 1st leftover meal, Cavatappi, Alfredo & Grilled Chicken [Half] (Fresh):

And here is the remaining other Half that was frozen, thawed and reheated:

As you can tell, it is being served on the commemorative plate I was given when I beat the prior record in Burlington, NC along with Alan Martin. The awesome GM, Jeremy, gave one to myself and Alan. I absolutely love it.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with a frozen Olive Garden meal, as I have never done that before. I have had fresh leftovers and always loved them, but this was unexplored territory for me. You can visibly tell the Alfredo sauce has been absorbed by the Cavatappi noodles… I was nervous how this would taste as a result, but dug in, took a bite and was blown away with how good it was still, despite still being mostly frozen when I reheated it. Crazy. I’d give this a 9/10.

After losing 70 pounds this year, I'm going on a journey of enjoying carbs and dining out twice a day for the next 8 weeks, for free, while still living a healthy lifestyle. I'll be at the gym daily, and my goal is to not put on a single pound. "Everything in moderation, including moderation" - Oscar Wilde
