Day 20, Meal 40

Day 20, Meal 40

My Rating:

Tonight, we had a family dinner at our local Olive Garden in Inverness, FL, including my girls Chloe & Olivia, my Mom & Dad, and two of my Aunt’s who flew in to visit. I think I’ve been out to eat with my mom only a handful of times in my life, so it was a VERY special occasion for her to come out with us. It was her first time ever visiting an Olive Garden, and same for one of my Aunt’s. It was nice that my wife Samantha was our server as well, which made the experience for the entire family that much better as well.

For dinner, I modified the FIRST meal of 8 Weeks of Pasta, which was Fettuccine, Asiago Garlic Alfredo & Crispy Chicken Fritta, which I rated an 8/10. I swapped out the sauce for regular Alfredo:

I really liked this meal a LOT. Good ratio of Pasta:Chicken:Sauce. I would say an 8/10. Another bonus was ALL 7 of us LOVED our dinner’s tonight. Great service from my lovely wife Samantha, and ALL of our food was fantastic.

…Dessert review time:

Shortly after getting home, as this is Dessert Week, I noticed the sugar was eating away at the Zeppoli that I saved for my post-dinner meal. I was told previously that they are best served fresh and not really ideal for leftovers after an extended period of time, and they were apparently right. So I decided to forego the leftover Dessert and finish up my calories by indulging in a couple (**2**) warm and fresh, amazing Breadsticks. But you can’t JUST have Breadsticks… I recently discovered one of the most amazing things at Olive Garden is a warm Breadstick dipped in some warm Alfredo… So a side order of Alfredo was ordered… This put me at 1275 calories of my 1300 calorie limit… Not too shabby.

However, what happened next may shock and appall you: I STILL ORDERED AND ATE A FULL DESSERT!!!!:

Why hello there beautiful, we meet again. I really wish I could describe how amazing this is. Let me give it a shot: “The Pumpkin Cheesecake, is REALLY amazing”. Since I only had 25 calories left, I knew I didn’t want to just take some small bite and call it quits. Everyone around me was eating dessert. Seasonal Sicilian Cheesecake to the West, Warm Apple Crostata to my East, and Tiramisu to the North. I made the impulse decision to just dive in and eat it. Not part of it. Not half of it. ALL of it. All 840 glorious calories of Pumpkin goodness. Since I rated this Dessert essentially an 11/10 before, I knew if I chose to indulge in a cheat, something I rarely do (as in, since February 2017, I haven’t went over my calories, including exercise), so now I was going to have to make up for it in the gym. So that is exactly what I did. Still totally worth it…

Here is the nutritional information showing my caloric overage (729):

And here is how I make up for eating the Pumpkin Cheesecake:

…an extra 729 calories consumed meets an extra 729 calories expended.

Here is my receipt showing a cost savings of $14.82:

After losing 70 pounds this year, I'm going on a journey of enjoying carbs and dining out twice a day for the next 8 weeks, for free, while still living a healthy lifestyle. I'll be at the gym daily, and my goal is to not put on a single pound. "Everything in moderation, including moderation" - Oscar Wilde
