For my final meal during Dessert Week, I went with a modified version of Day 7, Meal 14, which consisted of Fetuccine, Creamy Mushroom & Grilled Chicken, which rated at 8/10. This meal I swapped out the Grilled Chicken for some Crispy Chicken Fritta in Refill size fashion, so let’s see if the prior meal can be improved upon:
Wow, this was ridiculous. I’ve certainly had mixed feelings and results with the Creamy Mushroom, so it’s always hit or miss. The lowest meal rated on 8 Weeks of Pasta included that so I’m always nervous. Well let me tell you this meal ROCKS! Holy 10/10. I was pleasantly surprised. Now for full disclosure, I should let you know I did dump a good amount of grated Romano cheese on top, so if you give this a try, let them grate until they can grate no more… I can’t believe how much I loved this. Finally a 10/10 meal with Creamy Mushroom!
Okay, the FINAL Dessert of Dessert week. Since today was all about Dolcini, and I ordered 5 earlier and ate half of them, I had 2 remaining (as I donated the half remaining Limoncello Mousse to my wife from lunch that I found too Lemony). Amaretto Tiramisu & Chocolate Mousse remain:
The Amaretto Tiramisu was very good. I was a bit confused after 3 bites or so, as I didn’t really get any of the Tiramisu flavor, but I found out it was hiding in the center! Once you bite into it, you are treated with the same Tiramisu you find in the restaurant, which is always fantastic. The Amaretto was very strong, but it did pair really well. 9/10.
The Chocolate Mousse was also terrific. I really enjoyed the mixture of the chocolate shavings on top with the light and creamy mousse. There was a thin layer of chocolate cake at the bottom, which was great when found as well. 8/10.
After dinner tonight, I used an awesome subscription service, called moviepass, where you pay $9.95 a month, and can get a movie ticket every single day at no extra cost. One movie a month alone pays for the service:
I went to see The Foreigner, which was fantastic! Who knew Jackie Chan could act really well in a serious role? Go see it if you have a chance.
Tomorrow officially starts “Stickwich Week”, which I will forgo the Pasta selection and go straight to the Sauce & Topping combinations, paired with Breadsticks cut in half to make delicious sandwiches. I’ll have as much and as many as 1300 calories affords. And yes, there will be lots and lots of cheese in every one. The poll has officially spoken:
Check in tomorrow for the epic Traditional Meat Sauce & Meatball Stickwich.
